The Bismarck, the flagship of the German Navy, was the largest German warship next to Tirpitz and had 50,900 t water displacement and 2,092 men. Put into service on August 24, 1940, she went out on May 18, 1941 for the Operation Rhine Exercise. Together with the Prince Eugen, however, she was discovered early by the British aerial reconnaissance. At the meeting with the Hood, it was sunk by Bismarck on May 24, 1941. After a long persecution, she received an aircraft gate gate hit on May 26, 1941 and was made by the British battleships King George V and H.M.S. Rodney provided. On May 27th.
