AI Description:
The Tamiya model kit with the product number 58746 represents a 1:10 scale remote-controlled (RC) model of the Peugeot 306 Maxi, often labeled as "Bt 01." Tamiya, a renowned Japanese manufacturer of plastic model kits and radio-controlled vehicles, is known for its attention to detail and high-quality products. However, as of my last update, there isn't detailed specific information available for a kit with this exact model number in my database.
Typically, Tamiya's RC kits in this category would include features such as:
1. **Chassis:** Tamiya often uses versatile chassis types for their RC models. This model could be based on one of their popular chassis lines like the TT-02, known for its ease of assembly and accessibility for beginners, or possibly a more advanced type depending on the specific characteristics Tamiya wanted to emphasize for the Peugeot 306 Maxi.
2. **Body Details:** The model would likely feature a polycarbonate body shell, capturing the intricate details of the Peugeot 306 Maxi, including decals to replicate the branding and livery of the original racing model.
3. **Customization:** Tamiya kits generally provide options for customization and upgrades, allowing enthusiasts to modify the motor, suspension, and other components for improved performance or aesthetics.
4. **Rally Specification:** Given that the Peugeot 306 Maxi is a rally car, the kit might incorporate rally-specific adaptations such as enhanced suspension travel or rally tires.
5. **Assembly:** Like most Tamiya kits, this model would come in a build-it-yourself format, requiring assembly. Enthusiasts enjoy this aspect as it offers a hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the vehicle's mechanics.
6. **Electronics:** Depending on whether the kit is an expert build or beginner-friendly, it might include a basic electronic speed controller (ESC) and motor, possibly requiring separate purchase of a transmitter, receiver, and battery.
For the latest and most accurate information, I recommend checking Tamiya's official website or contacting authorized Tamiya retailers. They can provide detailed specifications, release notes, and availability updates for this specific model kit.

Based upon the FF hatchback Peugeot 306, the Peugeot 306 Maxi was developed with dedicated components for rallying. A 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated engine in front was capable of 280hp, and the car had enlarged fenders, roof spoiler, and a lightened body. Including the victories in 1996 and 1997 rally races in France, this car achieved many racing successes such as the class championship in the 1996 rally in Monte Carlo and third place in the 5th and 6th races on the 1997 global rally circuit. This R/C model assembly kit is inspired by such rally champions. The car's silhouette is recreated by a polycarbonate body, with stickers included to add an original livery.
Options Galore: the 2WD BT-01 Chassis
The easy-to-drive 2WD BT-01 chassis gives a choice of two types of wheelbase, and front- or rear-wheel drive system so your model remains faithful to its subject. Without removing battery pack, motor and R/C equipment setups from the center frame, simply change attachment directions of final gears and steering linkage to switch between front- and rear-wheel drive; front (FR) or midship rear (MR) motor position can be chosen for rear-wheel drive cars. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension features symmetrical structure and friction dampers. Unitized sections such as motor mount, final gears and suspension facilitate ease of assembly and effective maintenance. A front-wheel drive setup is recommended for this model.
